Off to a Flying Start in 2013 – Press Release, April 2013

Wednesday, April 3rd, 2013

Iain Burnett Highland Chocolatier has started the Spring season of 2013 in high spirits due to business innovations, more awards and outstanding success in 2012. The number of guests visiting the tourist attraction in the charming village of Grandtully, Highland Perthshire has dramatically increased by 23%.

The business is home to the Scottish Chocolate Centre – an adventurous multimedia exhibition dedicated to the origin, history and processing methods of turning cacao into award winning artisan chocolates. The 4 star tourist attraction added a viewing window into Iain’s bespoke chocolate kitchen in summer and visitors now have the opportunity to view all stages of the chocolate-making process (Mon – Fri) before tasting the mouth-watering chocolates.

Massive expansion took place in 2012 in the bespoke chocolate kitchen. Now three times the original size, expansion was essential to supply the huge growing demand from customers. Top notch establishments and celebrated chefs, for example Gordon Ramsay’s 3 Michelin Star Restaurant, The Hebridean Princess, Claridge’s and Harvey Nichol’s are amongst the clientele.

In March, we won two more awards in The Academy of Chocolate Awards based in London, who now have entrants from all over the world. Iain and his team are thrilled to continuously be recognised by their peers with these prestigious accolades.

More international tourists than ever have been enticed to the visitor attraction, no doubt alerted by the brown tourist road signs on the A9. The company is no longer a hidden gem with visitors of all nationalities stopping to sample the artisan gourmet chocolates, watch the chocolatiers in action and have a bite to eat in the enchanting Coffee and Chocolate House. The tourist attraction is alive with the sound of different languages, with Iain’s award-winning Scottish cream truffles and pralinés travelling to all different continents.

This voyage is complemented by the simultaneous growth of the company’s distribution network. Another first: the company opened their first elegant island shop in the Bon Accord Centre, Aberdeen. The launch signified the beginning of an expansion programme to make these outstanding chocolates readily available throughout the UK.

The prestigious brand exploded onto the London scene during Chocolate Week. Alexeeva & Jones, a magnificent and elegant chocolate boutique in Notting Hill, was launched and retails a number of luxury brands. Iain Burnett Highland Chocolatier instantly became the bestseller! Online presence has dramatically increased as Iain became a top luxury supplier of Chocolat Lovers, an online site for anything chocolate.

Alexeva & Jones and Chocolat Lovers sell the complete range of artisan gourmet chocolates. For life’s romantics, there are elegant red and gold heart-shaped boxes of Velvet Truffles™ and Spiced Pralinés. An ideal gift for that special someone.

These outstanding chocolates can be found at Iain Burnett’s unique visitor attraction in Grandtully, at the elegant island shop in the Bon Accord Centre, Aberdeen or online at www.highandchocolatier.com
