Highland Chocolatier to Fly First with British Airways – Press Release November 2013

Iain Burnett’s award-winning chocolate truffles and pralines will be flying in First with British Airways in time for Christmas!

Iain Burnett Highland Chocolatier is delighted to announce a partnership with Gate Gourmet, to supply a luxurious selection of Velvet Truffles & Spiced Pralines into all British Airways First cabins, commencing December 1st.

British Airways provides the very best of British products on board, associating with like-minded brands that offer the highest level of quality and service.

Following the success of Iain Burnett Highland Chocolatier at the Scotland Food & Drink Awards, where the company received the prestigious ‘Product of the Year 2013’, the launch of the contract with British Airways is the latest in a series of achievements, positioning Iain Burnett as a world-leading artisan chocolatier.

Iain Burnett Highland Chocolatier Managing Director, Janice Kennedy, is delighted with this new venture: “This is a major achievement for our company, we too are “Proud to Serve” our artisan gourmet product to a discerning audience. Our award-winning truffles are made with the finest ingredients without additives or preservatives, using a single origin cocoa combined with fresh cream from our very own Scottish Highlands.

“Our goal was to create more brand awareness, reach out to customers who appreciate the very best in British produce and tempt them with something truly unique.  We felt there was no better platform to launch global awareness than the First clients of British Airways – and, with many of them hopefully visiting Scotland for the Homecoming year of the Ryder Cup, we think the timing is good.

“We have doubled our chocolatier team and trebled our production capacity to meet the increased demands, without in any way changing the artisan techniques.  This is a major achievement for our whole team and a solid base for the business to flourish.  The past year has already seen us open  a new outlet in Aberdeen’s Bon Accord Centre – the first outside of our four star Chocolate Centre in Grandtully – and  the imminent grand opening of a  St Andrew’s outlet in the town’s South Street ” she says.
