Easter Egg Competiton Winners

Iain Burnett Highland Chocolatier’s team created two amazing 5 kilo Caramelised Milk Chocolate Easter Eggs – each masterpiece involved two of his chocolatiers limitless creating and crafting and two days to complete.  The final pieces required two chocolatiers to lift it into position for display inside a specially made glass case.

The company ran competitions based in St Andrews and Grandtully shops over several weeks and simply asked entrants to drop their details into the competition box, to have the opportunity of winning the lucky dip. The size of the egg caused quite a stir, attracting a lot of attention from locals and visitors alike, with hundreds of entries and so many people wishing to win it.

On Saturday 19th April a lucky winner was personally presented with the amazing 5 kilo Caramelised Milk Chocolate Easter Egg by owner, Hilarie Burnett at The Scottish Chocolate Centre in Grandtully between Aberfeldy & Pitlochry.

Jacqui  McColl from Edinburgh was thrilled to have won such a wonderful Easter egg and could not believe her luck. She commented “the reason I entered was because it reminded me, when I was a little girl, of a similar size egg which was on display in my doctor’s surgery every Spring. It brought back a lot of memories! I am so surprised and absolutely thrilled, I cannot believe it!” It was also another opportunity to visit the place where Iain and his team of chocolatiers produce all the chocolate goodies in such a beautiful location alongside the banks of the River Tay.

Then on Thursday 24th April, the lucky winner of the St Andrews competition was personally presented with the second 5 kilo Caramelised Milk Chocolate Easter Egg by Managing Director, Janice Kennedy, at the new shop on 145 South Street, St Andrews.

 Joanna Hewitt from London was thrilled to have won such a wonderful Easter egg and could not believe her luck, she asked her friends, Graham Warren and Bert Ross, presenters on the Victoria Hospital Radio Network (VRN) Kirkcaldy, to distribute the egg into little pieces so everyone in the Children’s ward at the hospital got a taste.

Iain commented “it was great fun to do something different, it created a buzz within the team and is so satisfying to see the excitement and delight on people’s faces, especially children. The town of St Andrews has responded fantastically and has been so welcoming and hopefully, we can bring a new experience into the town!”
